Houston Private Aviation & FBO Guide
Plan Houston FBO and private-aircraft ground transportation with the right airport, tail number, passenger details, luggage and executive itinerary.
Private aviation removes many of the delays associated with a commercial terminal, but it introduces a different planning requirement: the chauffeur needs the correct airport and fixed-base operator (FBO), not merely “Houston airport.” A corporate aircraft arriving at one FBO can be miles from a similarly named facility or from a commercial passenger terminal.
For a reliable Houston private-aircraft transfer, treat the ground itinerary as part of the flight plan. Share the airport/FBO, tail number when available, estimated arrival, passenger contact and next destination before the aircraft is on final approach.
AK Prestige provides prearranged Houston private aviation and FBO transportation for executives, corporate teams and private travelers throughout Greater Houston.
What information should you send for an FBO pickup?
Send as much of the following as the flight organizer can confirm:
- airport code or airport name;
- FBO/operator name;
- tail number or flight identifier;
- estimated arrival time;
- lead passenger and mobile number;
- passenger count;
- luggage quantity and oversized items;
- aircraft or handling contact if appropriate;
- hotel, office or event destination;
- every planned meeting or stop if the vehicle will remain assigned.
The tail number can be more useful than a commercial flight number because private itineraries may change timing without appearing in ordinary passenger-flight trackers. If a flight department, charter broker or FBO is coordinating the arrival, give dispatch the contact who can confirm significant schedule changes.
Houston has several different aviation environments
Houston’s airport system includes George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), and Ellington Airport (EFD)/Houston Spaceport. Houston Airports reported more than 62 million passengers across IAH and HOU in 2025, while Ellington supports military, NASA and general-aviation activity.
Private and corporate aircraft can also use facilities beyond those three airports, so never assume the chauffeur knows the correct field from the word “Houston” alone. The booking should identify the exact airport and FBO shown on the aircraft itinerary.
For commercial-airline arrivals instead, use the IAH airport car service or Hobby Airport car service pages.
Ellington Airport and Houston Spaceport
Ellington Airport is especially relevant to aerospace, government and NASA-area business travel. Houston Airports identifies Ellington as supporting NASA, U.S. military and general-aviation operations, and lists Signature Aviation as the current fixed-base operator on its tenant page.
The Houston Spaceport is located at Ellington and is federally licensed for commercial spaceflight activity. For travelers visiting aerospace companies, Johnson Space Center-area facilities or Spaceport tenants, Houston aerospace executive transportation can connect the aviation arrival to the rest of the business schedule.

FBO tenants, access procedures and operating arrangements can change. Confirm the current handling facility directly from the flight itinerary before the vehicle is dispatched.
What happens at the FBO when the aircraft lands?
FBO procedures vary. Some facilities can coordinate a vehicle close to the aircraft when access and security rules permit; others require the passenger to meet the vehicle at a lobby or designated vehicle point. The chauffeur cannot override ramp-access, security or escort rules established by the airport or FBO.
The best process is to have the flight organizer or passenger confirm the FBO and then follow the facility’s live arrival instructions. Avoid publishing or relying on a fixed “meet at this door” instruction for private aviation because the correct meeting point can depend on the aircraft, ramp, operator and security conditions that day.
Private aviation to Downtown, Galleria, Energy Corridor and The Woodlands
A private-aircraft arrival is often the beginning of a dense business day rather than the final destination. Houston meetings may span large distances, including Downtown, the Galleria/Uptown area, the Energy Corridor, The Woodlands, the Houston Ship Channel and the Texas Medical Center.
If the passenger will have several meetings, provide the complete schedule before pickup. Hourly chauffeur service can keep one vehicle assigned instead of creating a separate dispatch for each leg.
For investor or company-visit schedules, see Houston executive roadshow transportation.
Private aviation for Houston energy business
Houston private aviation demand overlaps heavily with the city’s energy and industrial travel. Executives may land for investor meetings, project reviews, customer visits, board meetings, CERAWeek, OTC or a site visit in the Ship Channel corridor.
Useful planning pages include:
- Houston oil and gas executive transportation
- Houston LNG and petrochemical transportation
- Houston EPC and engineering transportation
- Port Houston maritime and logistics transportation
When the day includes an industrial facility, send the exact visitor address, gate instructions, onsite contact and any access requirements. Ground transportation providers do not control facility credentials, PPE requirements or security clearance.
Vehicle selection for private-aircraft passengers
Do not choose the ground vehicle from passenger count alone. A four-person executive team with large cases may need more luggage room than four passengers traveling light.
Provide:
- number of passengers;
- number and approximate size of bags;
- golf clubs, trade-show cases or other oversized items;
- whether the group must stay together;
- whether the vehicle must remain assigned for the day.
Review the AK Prestige fleet for current vehicle classes. Dispatch confirms the final fit and availability for each trip.
For assistants, flight departments and charter brokers
The smoothest private-aviation reservations usually have one organizer who can provide both flight and ground details. A useful itinerary includes the aircraft information, FBO, traveler contacts, each ground stop, meeting windows and the person authorized to make schedule changes.
For a multi-day executive visit, send all known transportation legs at once. That makes it easier to coordinate airport arrival, hotel, meetings, dinners and departure as one operating schedule rather than independent rides.
Houston private aviation checklist
Before the aircraft departs for Houston, confirm:
- exact Houston-area airport;
- exact FBO or handling facility;
- tail number or flight identifier;
- estimated arrival;
- passenger mobile contact;
- baggage and equipment;
- first destination;
- subsequent stops and approximate timing;
- departure/FBO details for the return leg.
A clear aviation itinerary is more valuable than a generic request for “airport transportation.” AK Prestige can then coordinate the appropriate private aviation/FBO transfer and keep the chauffeur aligned with the traveler’s Houston schedule.
